North Sacramento, CA (July 08, 2025) – A pedestrian suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Whitney Avenue and Watt Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight and involved a single vehicle that fled the scene. CHP said the vehicle continued northbound on Watt Avenue toward Auburn Boulevard after striking the male pedestrian.
Emergency responders from the Sacramento Fire Department and CHP North Sacramento division provided care before transporting the victim to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for further treatment.
Authorities initially classified the incident as a hit-and-run with injuries and later upgraded it to a major injury collision. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to help identify the vehicle and driver. No other injuries were reported.
