Sacramento, CA (August 17, 2026) – Four men changing a tire on the shoulder of eastbound Highway 50 near the 34th Street off-ramp were struck when an SUV drifted into them, killing one man and injuring three others, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials additionally recommended that stranded drivers wear high-visibility vests to stay visible to passing traffic, particularly at night.
