Oroville, CA (July 16, 2025) – A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Hwy 70 near Cox Ln in Oroville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. when 38-year-old Baljinder Kaur of Yuba City was driving southbound on Hwy 70 in a 2015 Honda CR-V. Officials reported that the pedestrian suddenly ran across the roadway, and despite the driver’s attempt to brake, the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
CHP Oroville, Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, and Butte County Fire Department responded quickly and treated the injured woman at the scene. She was then transported to Enloe Medical Center with serious injuries. Her identity has not been released, and her current condition is unknown. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are examining whether visibility, road conditions, or pedestrian behavior played a role.
