Richmond, CA – Eleven Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-580 Near Regatta Blvd

Richmond, CA (June 29, 2025) – Eleven people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning on the westbound I-580 Freeway, just west of the Regatta Blvd on-ramp, according to the CHP.

The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. and involved at least five vehicles. Emergency responders from the Richmond Fire Department and local medical personnel arrived on scene to treat those injured. Eleven individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

One of the drivers reportedly fled the scene on foot into nearby bushes, prompting an ongoing search by the CHP. All westbound lanes of I-580 were temporarily blocked as crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigators examined the crash site.

At this time, authorities have not released the identities of those involved. The hit-and-run aspect of the incident remains under investigation.
