San Diego County, CA (October 15, 2025) – Several children sustained minor injuries Wednesday morning when a school bus and a black Honda sedan collided at the intersection of Brooke Road and South Stagecoach Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash was reported shortly before 7:50 a.m. Initial reports indicated that approximately six children on the bus experienced minor injuries, mostly complaints of pain. No serious injuries were reported. The collision occurred when the school bus, which also transports children in vans, collided with the sedan.
Emergency crews and CHP officers responded quickly to the scene, and both vehicles required towing — a flatbed for the Honda and a heavy-duty tow truck for the school bus. SandR Towing from Oceanside and Adams Towing from Vista were dispatched to assist.
Traffic in the area was briefly affected while officers investigated and cleared the roadway. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the children and their families during this difficult time, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.
School Bus Accidents in California
School bus accidents involve unique legal considerations under California law. Liability may extend to the school district, private bus companies, drivers, and even manufacturers of defective bus parts. If negligence caused the crash, victims, especially children, can seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages.
It’s critical to report the accident promptly, gather evidence, and, when the bus is school district-operated, file a government claim within six months per California Government Code § 945.6. Due to the complexity and strict deadlines, consulting an experienced personal injury attorney in California specializing in school bus cases is essential to protect injured parties’ rights and secure fair compensation.
