Sacramento, CA (July 6, 2024) – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after an accident that took place in Sacramento on Saturday evening, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol said the vehicle was traveling south on Highway 51 just north of Marconi Avenue when it struck another car and multiple water-filled plastic barriers between the freeway and the off-ramp, causing the automobile to overturn. Four juveniles and an adult, a man in his 30s, were taken to the hospital with minor to major injuries, the CHP said. One driver was also arrested on suspicion of DUI, and alcohol is expected to be a factor in this crash, according to a CHP news release. However, no additional details connected with the accident were released.
