Sacramento, CA (August 28, 2024) – The California Highway Patrol reported that the motorcyclist killed in a Sunday afternoon crash in midtown Sacramento has been identified.

According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, he was 55-year-old Jose Louis Silva. His death was classified as a criminal motor vehicle accident. Sacramento police were questioned about the possibility of criminal charges against the other driver, and officers confirmed the potential of further citations and/or charges as part of their investigation.

The crash happened around noon Sunday near 24th and J Streets. Debris could be seen in front of Rick’s Dessert Diner. Silva died from his injuries at the hospital. That said, authorities request that any witnesses who may have information regarding the incident come forward, but an investigation is still ongoing in the interim.
