Pedestrian Accidents in Sacramento

It is not unusual to see a pedestrian strolling beside a road, city street, or close to built areas in California. This is particularly true given the state’s generally moderate climate year-round. No matter how familiar the sight, accidents occur frequently due to the closeness between these walkers and vehicles driving along our highways.

Pedestrians may suffer serious or even fatal injuries, particularly because they are not protected by a vehicle or safety features like airbags. Unfortunately, California became the eighth worst state for pedestrian injuries and deaths in the United States over the last several years, with more than 1,000 pedestrian fatalities documented during the prior five years alone. Moreover, according to the most recent census, the Sacramento metropolitan region, which has 2.4 million residents, is the eighth worst state in the nation for pedestrians.
