[02-03-2025] – Man Dies in Pedestrian Incident on Highway 99

Merced, CA – A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning when a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 99, close to Yosemite Parkway, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Authorities indicated that the pedestrian entered the roadway unexpectedly, which led to the unfortunate collision with an approaching vehicle. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene; however, the pedestrian did not survive his injuries.

At this time, officials have not disclosed the identity of the victim nor provided information regarding the driver involved in the accident. The inquiry into this fatal incident is currently underway.
