Sacramento, CA (December 6, 2024) – According to troopers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), four people, including a 2-year-old child, were taken to the hospital after a crash in Sacramento County on Friday. Emergency crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to Elkhorn Boulevard near East Levee Road for reports of a two-vehicle crash.

CHP said a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Elkhorn Boulevard made a left turn and crashed into a sedan traveling westbound on the road. Troopers added that a motorcycle was also involved in the incident. Two drivers, both male adults, were taken to the hospital with a complaint of pain, officials added. A 24-year-old woman has a possible broken arm, and a 2-year-old boy has a laceration to the eye, CHP confirmed. Both were passengers in the sedan. In the meantime, no further updates were given on those involved, and the investigation is still ongoing and active. Witnesses were asked to contact CHP troopers if they had additional information.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.

Motorcycle Accidents in California

The state of California has witnessed a significant increase in the number of motorcycle collisions over the past several years. Statistics show that not only is the number of these accidents growing, but they are also more frequently leading to serious injuries and fatalities. Of course, when compared to vehicles, motorcyclists are more likely to experience severe injuries in collisions of this nature because there are fewer protective barriers present in the riding environment. Distracted driving, speeding, lack of general roadway visibility, issues with road conditions, and general driver negligence are all factors that contribute to these incidents.
