Sacramento, CA (November 30, 2024) – According to local authorities at the scene, all lanes are back open on Interstate 5 after a multi-vehicle crash near Twin Cities Road on Saturday, November 30.
Online traffic logs show the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near Twin Cities Road. The California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) said all northbound lanes were closed due to the crash and were advising drivers to use Highway 99 instead. It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash, and it’s unknown how many people were ultimately hurt in the accident. The road has since been reopened, but officials have asked anyone with information about this crash to contact the Sacramento police office in the meantime.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
Major Car Accidents in California
Due to its concentrated population and congested highways, Sacramento should be more concerned with traffic safety, according to accident statistics. Unfortunately, auto accidents are common across Sacramento and the surrounding urban areas. Possessing this information regarding major and minor highway collisions will assist in shedding light on the greater Sacramento region’s alarmingly high accident rate. Tragically, a significant proportion of these collisions result in fatalities or, more severely, severe injuries to all parties involved.
Driving through Southern California can be both exhilarating and daunting. As the capital of California, Sacramento particularly functions as a significant hub for transportation, commerce, and travel. Even though the city maintains traffic with an extensive network of thoroughfares and roads, they may become congested during rush hour. Sacramento cars must share the road with thousands of other vehicles while exercising caution and vigilance.
