Sacramento, CA (September 3, 2024) – According to California Highway Patrol reports, a person was killed and several others injured in a multi-vehicle crash that took place in the Rio Vista area on Sunday night on Highway 160.
The Rio Vista Fire Department, whose squads reported to the site of the incident, said it was unclear what caused the crash, which occurred around 6:00 p.m. in Sacramento County near Sherman Island Road. California Highway Patrol logs show at least three vehicles were involved. One of those vehicles went down the embankment and into the water. EMTs transported an unknown number of people to an area hospital, and officers did not identify those involved. An investigation is ongoing in the interim.
