Sutter County, CA (August 6, 2024) – According to local authorities, a Colusa County man died early Monday morning after a head-on crash on Highway 20 in Sutter County.
Officers say the incident happened around 5:00 a.m. on Highway 20, west of Acacia Avenue. CHP said a 54-year-old man from Williams was going eastbound in a Ford F-150 while another man was driving a Dodge Charger westbound. The driver of the F-150 allegedly tried to pass another vehicle in front of him but collided with the front of the Charger. One of the drivers died at the hospital, while the other driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Adventist Health and Rideout, authorities said.
Drugs and alcohol are reportedly not a suspected factor in the crash. The cause of the accident also remains unclear, and no further details have been reported on the victims’ conditions in the interim. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased victim’s loved ones. Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
