Rancho Cordova, CA – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning at the intersection of International Drive and Mather Field Road in Rancho Cordova. The incident occurred at approximately 6:16 AM, according to local police.
Emergency medical crews responded quickly to the scene and attempted life-saving measures. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries shortly after the crash and was pronounced deceased on-site.
The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The victimโs identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Rancho Cordova Police have not confirmed whether speed, visibility, or impairment were contributing factors in the collision. The area surrounding the intersection was temporarily closed while investigators examined the scene and gathered witness statements.
