Stockton, CA (June 17, 2024) – One person died after an apparent rear-end or chain-reaction crash near French Camp on Sunday, June 16.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported in the area of Bowman and Manthey Roads around noon. Police said the driver of a Nissan Ultima tried to pass a black Mazda 3 when they clipped the other driver’s bumper, causing a rollover collision. One victim, a 31-year-old man out of Stockton, was pronounced dead at the site. It’s not clear if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash yet, but troopers suspect DUI. It’s also unclear how many passengers or other victims were hurt. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
