Modesto, CA (July 14, 2024) – Officers with the Modesto Police Department said that they were called to the site of an accident in which a pedestrian was hit by a car at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The incident took place in the area of West Briggsmore Avenue and Carver Road, per local authorities. The vehicle involved was reportedly traveling west on West Briggsmore when the crash occurred, according to the police.
Per law enforcement officials, the pedestrian was rushed to the hospital but passed away from their injuries a short time later. The car’s driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Although the victim’s identity has not yet been released by the authorities, the investigation is still ongoing. In the interim, witnesses are urged to get in touch with Traffic Safety Officer Justin Beverson.
