Modesto, CA (November 25, 2024) – A driver was quickly arrested Saturday night after a hit-and-run crash on South Ninth Street in south Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At about 9:10 p.m., CHP units responded to reports of a pedestrian dead in the roadway of South Ninth north of Hatch Road, according to a news release. There were “obvious signs of death,” it says. That said, the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, though anyone with information regarding the collision was asked to call local officials as the officers’ inquiry proceeded. The victim has yet to be identified during the interim.
