[01-17-2025] – Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit by SUV on Highway 395 in Victorville

Victorville, CA – A pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV on Highway 395 near Cactus Road on the evening of January 17, 2025, leading to the closure of the northbound lanes as authorities conducted their investigation. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m.

Captain Ken Lutz from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley Station confirmed the closure while the investigation is underway. Gloria Huerta, Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, stated that the adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and that the vehicle involved, an older model white Cadillac Escalade SUV, remained on site with significant hood damage.

The Victorville Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the crash, and the identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released. Authorities are advising drivers to use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
