Sutter County, CA – A serious accident occurred on Monday, involving a 77-year-old man who suffered significant injuries after colliding with a semi-truck on Highway 99 at Hull Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident unfolded when a white SUV unexpectedly exited from the side of the road straight into the path of an approaching gravel-hauling semi-truck. In an unfortunate twist, the truck driver couldn’t react quickly enough and ended up colliding with the rear section of the SUV, which resulted in the vehicle overturning.
Immediately upon their arrival, emergency responders provided assistance and swiftly transported the elderly man, who was driving the SUV, to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for his serious injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the semi-truck emerged from the accident unscathed.
Authorities have determined that impairment played no role in this unfortunate event, and they are continuing their inquiry into the complete circumstances of the crash. Our thoughts are with the injured driver as we hope for a swift and complete recovery.
