Barstow, CA – A tragic wrong-way accident unfolded late Wednesday night on Interstate 15 in the Barstow region, resulting in at least one confirmed death. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident occurred around 9:53 p.m. near mile marker 142.
According to preliminary reports, a vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with another car. The collision involved multiple vehicles, including a white sedan, a dark-colored car, and a semi-truck, intensifying the crash’s impact.
Emergency responders quickly reached the scene, where they sadly confirmed the death of one individual. While additional victims may have suffered injuries, specific details about their conditions are still unclear as the situation develops.
The crash led to several lanes being blocked off, causing substantial traffic delays as authorities worked to manage the aftermath. At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been released, nor has there been any information about whether impairment played a role in the incident.
