Nevada City, CA – A serious traffic collision occurred on Thursday afternoon along the Golden Center Freeway in Nevada City, leaving two people hospitalized, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident took place at approximately 4:00 PM, just south of Sacramento Street, when a Honda Accord crashed into the rear of a Caltrans safety truck stationed on the freeway.
The driver of the Honda sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care. The Caltrans employee, who was in the truck at the time of the collision, was also taken to the hospital. However, the extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The crash prompted a swift response from emergency personnel, with teams working to secure the scene, provide medical assistance, and manage traffic around the affected area.
