Redding, CA – A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred in Redding, California, on the afternoon of November 28, 2024, claiming the life of a pedestrian.
The incident took place at around 1:54 p.m. on Lake Boulevard, close to the intersection with Clay Street. Authorities report that the victim, who was pushing a shopping cart along the shoulder of the road, was struck by a vehicle heading westbound. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Jessica Remedios of Redding, fled the scene and returned to her nearby residence.
Law enforcement soon located Remedios at her home, leading to her arrest. She has been booked into Shasta County Jail and now faces serious charges, including vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence (DUI), causing great bodily injury or death, and felony hit-and-run.
