Fresno, CA – A tragic motorcycle accident involving an Amazon delivery van on Sunday night resulted in the deaths of two teenagers, as confirmed by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The victims have been identified as 15-year-old Antarpreet Singh and 14-year-old Harjap Singh, both residents of Fresno.
According to preliminary findings, the teens were riding their motorcycle south on Sunnyside Avenue around 8:10 p.m. when they struck the delivery van. The van was pulling out from Byrd onto Sunnyside Avenue at the time of the collision. Sadly, both individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department‘s Collision Reconstruction Unit was deployed to gather further information regarding the circumstances of the accident. This investigation remains ongoing.
Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that in 2017, 5,172 motorcyclists lost their lives in crashes, marking a 3% decrease from 5,337 in 2016.
