Sacramento, CA (September 5, 2024) – One person has died, and another person was injured following a crash near Walnut Grove Wednesday night, the California Highway Patrol said. Crews responded to the report of a hit around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Race Track Road and Tyler Island Road.
Officials added that a man was pronounced dead at the scene after one of the vehicles involved rolled over. A woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to an area hospital with major injuries. CHP has not yet identified the man who died, and the crash remains under investigation, but speed and/or alcohol use are being considered as possible factors in the collision. However, no further details were released, and an inquiry into the accident is still ongoing at this time.
