Sacramento, CA (September 12, 2024) – A crash involving three vehicles was reported on southbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento on Wednesday afternoon, September 11.
Emergency crews responded around 3:10 p.m. to reports of the crash just north of the Highway 50 connection, according to the California Highway Patrol online logs. The CHP logs further indicated that the crash blocked at least one highway lane for an hour. It was unclear the total number of victim injuries that were reported. However, the CHP confirmed that an ambulance was responding to the scene.
In the interim, the cause of the collision and the total number of victims remained unknown. The Sacramento Police Department, together with the CHP, is still investigating the cause of the accident in the meantime. Witnesses were asked to contact the SPD with additional information during the interim.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their complete recovery.
